September 5: Doug's B-Day MS show @ Our Wicked Lady

Miracle Sweepstakes is playing the Our Wicked Lady rooftop (153 Morgan Ave, Brooklyn) a week from this Thursday, September 5th with Meds, Chris Urriola and and DJ Dapsoul. I think we’re on around 8:30, and you can get advance tix here if you so choose…
This show is also Doug’s birthday, and tru 1WT insiders may recall that there was a rumored Doug birthday show last year that didn’t materialize. It’s a sobering reminder that there are no guarantees in this wicked world, and so I think it’s incumbent upon all of us — bandmates, friends, randos — to come out and celebrate Doug. I don’t think there’s a flyer for this one yet so enjoy this .gif I made of him while goofing off at work:
In order news, there’s new music from the other two members of MS. Ian has been releasing some noisy drone-y synth stuff on Bandcamp recently, with an EP on the way. They’re all sick but this one is my favorite of the three:
And Justin’s project Tag Cloud has a new album on the way called NOZONES which comes out September 13th. There’s two singles out, I love how evil “There will be a fire” sounds, kind of like a glitchier “Tiny Cities Made of Ashes” by Modest Mouse meets Tom Waits, or the Sopranos theme or something:
